The Voice of a Nurse:: Reflecting on the International Year of the Nurse and Beyond

When the World Health Organization proclaimed 2020 the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, no one could have predicted that COVID-19 would expose so publicly the extraordinary work of nurses. Their courage, compassion, and skill have elicited gratitude of patients and families internationally. The DAISY Award has been honoring nurses, providing a structured program of ongoing meaningful recognition of nurses since 1999.
